Community Art Event

How to create a group art event

We have made a step by step video guide on how to bring a group together to create an awesome piece of art.. Oh ya, we also we also managed to fit in a couple of bottles of wine, its maybe the reason the zebra looks a little funky :)

Step 1

Spray paint

SPRAY PAINT

Find a large sheet of timber (Do not rob it, unless you are totally broke)

Find a few cans of really colourful spay paint (Probably best not to rob these either)

Spray paint the board. Do this outside unless you want to get so high you literally wont sleep for a week

Use stencils (or sheets of card board if your feeling too lazy) to make cool patterns

Step 2

OIL PASTEL

Prepare yourself to get black everywhere because this is a messy job

Step 3

TOOTH PICKS

Trick as many of your friends as possible to help at this point because this is hard work.

You have to scratch away the black layer to revel the colourful pattern below.

Let us know in the comments below what you would like to see for our next event. and if you'd like to come along just contact us here for more details

Speed painting

This was a lot of fun to create

I was messing about in my Studio in Sligo on Saturday and I really wanted to create a video.

I've condensed 1 hour of me painting down into 1 minute. The end result is pretty cool and very easy to achieve but honestly I think I should win an award for my tripod making skills!!

Make shift tripod

I made my tripod out of a ladder

it sounds a bit mental but thats exactly what I did! I needed to shoot straight down and I have limited camera equipment at the best of times so using bubble wrap, string and a trusty house hold ladder I fashioned my very own tripod.

Try it yourself

This is a really quick, easy and fun way to make artwork. Give it ago and if you have any questions just ask me in the comments section below

Art Commission for Bressie

The Job

I was very excited to be asked to create commission piece of art work for Niall Breslin AKA Bressie. How could you not be excited? The man has achieved so much and is such a diverse individual, I couldn't wait to start!!

Bressie

With an amazing array of talents he has made a career as a professional sports man (Leinster rugby player), a singer (with the blizzards), a tv personality (The Voice) and most recently has become a key campaigner for mental health awareness in Ireland and is behind the hugely successful A lust for life website.

Bressie art commission Gary Reddin

The Design

As the piece is so personal I don't want to dissect it online just know that it is drenched in meaning and every element symbolises something of huge significance in the man's life. It took 2 weeks in total to create but for his reaction and gratitude it was two weeks very well spent.

Let us know what you think and add a comment below!!
